6 happy tails from adopted pets
No matter how big or small, young or old, the moments are magical when homeless pets find new families to love them. The wagging tails, rumbling purrs and smiling faces are all the proof we need of that. From coast to coast, Best Friends helps thousands of pets find new homes each year, and every adoption is a cause for celebration (and maybe a few happy tears).
We want to share some of that joy with you, so here are a few of the dogs and cats who have recently settled into their new lives with their new favorite people.
Homer
Homer was so shy when he first came to Best Friends in Northwest Arkansas that he wouldn’t go outside by himself, and he was timid around people. Time in a foster home helped him find the confidence to attend adoption events, and that’s where his new family met him and fell in love.
Tinker
“Are we there yet?” Tinker heads home with her new mom, Tia. She was adopted from Best Friends during an adoption promotion. Happy tails — er, trails, Tinker!
Maggie
Maggie’s adopter sent this adorable photo with an update: “I can’t believe how much progress she’s made over the last few months! Her favorite toy is a little sloth that she treats like a kitten and absolutely loves. She has become so energetic and affectionate. Thank you for being so helpful and for giving me my best friend.”
Lady
Bringing pets to the people can be a beautiful thing! The Robert family adopted Lady at a mobile event in Atlanta. They report: “Lady is adjusting really well. She is such a good dog! She’s like our little baby.”
Olive
“Wait, is this real? Am I getting adopted?!” It’s real, Olive! Jamie and Brian feel like they hit the jackpot by adopting her, and it’s safe to say that Olive feels the same way.
Ruby
Janet came to Best Friends in Utah to adopt a kitten, but when she saw 15-year-old Ruby’s picture and story, she changed her mind. Ruby reminded Janet so much of her previous kitty that she knew she wanted to give her a home for her golden years.
