Michelle Kish saved Gus from euthanasia from his previous owner--who claimed Gus was nipping, and had set up the appointment to have him put down in November.

Michelle, who found out about the situation, scurried around in hopes of saving Gus by working with Animal Help (click here to read a related story) and Beth Mersten -- a wonderful animal advocate for Best Friends in New Jersey. (Incidentally the dog is in New Jersey and Michelle is in Florida.)

Michelle pleaded with and convinced the owner to relinquish Gus to her and then went to New Jersey to save this Wonderful boy. Poor Gus has been rotating in friends and family"s homes as a foster ever since. But, on the positive side, Beth hooked Gus up with a local trainer who has been working with him and has offered additional training once Gus is adopted.

The description of Gus on Petfinder reads: I like to run and play, but when you are busy I will just lay down on my bed. When you come home, I grab my favorite toy and wiggle all over. I also give kisses and I love to snuggle. Gus is crate trained but doesn"t need to be crated. He is very obedient and still very much a puppy at heart. He waits to walk through doors. He waits to be allowed back into the house. He accepts corrections and adores praise.

Gus" trainer writes that Gus is leery of new people, but has shown no aggression at all, as Gus has fear due to lack of social skills. Aside from his socialization issue, he seems like a really wonderful dog. Gus is sweet and a real "wiggle butt."

Gus" current home can only foster through the end of January. We are trying to get him into a new foster (or better yet, permanent!) home. Can you please help?
