Best Friends to participate in Oprah's Live Your Best Life Walk

O, the Oprah Magazine has announced the route for the Live Your Best Life Walk, in which thousands will be joining Oprah on a walk through Manhattan on behalf of the ten charities the magazine has chosen to participate in the celebration of its 10th anniversary. Best Friends is, of course, one of those charities.

The walk begins at Pier 86 along the scenic Hudson River and heads north on the West Side Highway before turning right onto 57th Street. The last stretch is along famed Broadway, and there the walk culminates in the very heart of Manhattan — at Times Square, where O Magazine will be throwing what it’s calling "the biggest birthday party ever." The city will be closing off all the blocks between 49th and 54th Streets to accommodate the festivities.

Celebrity supporters

Of course, Best Friends will have a tent at the party promoting our No More Homeless Pets mission, and there you’ll find our crew of celebrity supporters lending their star power, celebrities including actresses Rachelle Lefevre, Maggie Q and Lisa Edelstein, as well as critically acclaimed songstress Neko Case and Emmylou Harris. Our own John Garcia, one of the stars of "DogTown," will also be helping draw the crowds in.

We’re encouraging all of our members in the tri-state area and beyond to walk with us toward a time of No More Homeless Pets.

Remember, you don’t have to actually be present at the walk to become a fundraiser, but you do need to register to take advantage of the great incentives Best Friends and O Magazine are offering.
